Ayam Betutu is one of the most famous icons of Bali’s signature culinary in Indonesia (or maybe on the world though), it is very famous for two things. First of all, it is very infamous for being extraordinarily spicy food and from this food there is one stereotype that Balinese people’s stomach are made from Iron. And the second reason is that the cooking method of this dish is very long and unique, the spices are inserted to the chicken’s stomach, then covered with banana leaf and grilled with traditional coconut’s skin for 24 hours.

This cuisine taste really spicy, so prepare your stomach if you wish to try this dish beforehand since this dish can send a healthy person into diarrhea very quick, other than its spiciness, the Ayam Betutu is very rich in terms of taste, from salty and bitter even slight sour taste to boot. The texture for this chicken dish itself is softer than most other grilled chicken

Satay Lilit is one of the more unique dishes in Bali thanks to its nature. Satay usually are made by skewering the meats into a stick, while this Satay are made by binding the meat on a stick. Other unique trait is that the meat are finely diced and grinded before processed further while others are diced into small pieces, the other defining trait is that Sate Lilit are mixed with many kinds of spices before grilled, while others are grilled directly after being seasoned with soy sauces. And also this satay are primarily made with mackerel fish, other options for this satay are from chicken, beef and pork

Satay Lilit tastes great, it’s not very spicy to a little bit, but it is backed up with soft texture if using mackerel. It also has a trace of very crunchy and somehow a little bit of sweet to neutralize the spiciness (if any) from the satay itself.

3.       Lawar is a mix of diced meat with vegetables that are combined with special spices from Bali, most commonly Lawar is made by mixing pork, vegetables and secret ingredients. Fortunately for our Muslim friends, there’s also a variant of Lawar that are made by duck in favor of pork and this variant also wildly popular in Bali.

The taste of lawar itself is slightly salty from its ingredients, backed with mixed texture of food in the mouth creates a feeling that you’re eating two dishes at once instead of one. This culinary itself also has very wide range of texture depending on what combination of vegetables and meat that are used to make this cuisine

Oh boy, here we go with another very iconic cuisine from Bali. Welcome to Roast Suckling Pig, a non-spicy counterpart of Ayam Betutu and made of a hog to boot, so not halal for the Muslim. And hoo boy, this food is the primary reason why most domestic tourist comes to Bali itself.

Babi Guling taste could only be described in one word, exotic, because its skin is very crunchy like you taste caramel with some salt, and then the pork is very rich in flavoring thanks to the seasonings that are added in the beginning, the texture itself is kind of hard but the more you chew it the more you taste the flavorings for the Suckling Pig. Overall, it’s worth the money you spend to buy one of this
